Caching has its rewards

This weekend we attempted yet another first-to-find. Unfortunately, we were third but you won't see any disappointment on the kids' faces here! The cache was Jump Judge in Fishers, NY and it contained lots of horse show ribbons (and we're talkin' BIG ones, too!) The kids had so much fun wearing this ribbon and posing for these pictures (why does Maia always smile after the picture's taken?!?) Not a bad cache prize, eh?

Okay I'm getting lost on this caching thing....what is it anyway?
Caching is short for "geocaching" and it is sort of like treasure hunting with a GPS device. You enter a set of coordinates into your hand-held GPS unit and it "leads" you to a cache location. The fun is in the hunt (ok, for the kids it's all about the goodies inside!) Check out www.geocaching.com for caches near you. Warning:
Jody I asked Dh about this today and he said he had heard about it (and never told me how dare him). Anyway he thought it sounded fun too. I think we will take the girls out soon and try it!
